About Kele

Kele was born and raised in New York City, and has always had a keen interest in drama and dance. She attended Northwestern University, gaining her bachelor of science degree in drama, after which she did a post-graduate acting training course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).

Kele is a licentiate member of the International Dance Teachers Association (L-IDTA) and an Associate member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (A-ISTD). In London, Kele is the co-director of the successful Kensington Dance Studio. In America, Kele taught at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio (Red Bank, New Jersey), Dance New York and Stepping Out (New York).

In conjunction with Kele's dancing, she has performed on and choreographed for stage and television (see Media), and has co-written a how-to-dance book for Strictly Come Dancing.

In 1998 Kele founded Dance Al Fresco, an annual series of outdoor charity ballroom, Latin and Argentine Tango dance parties. Events are held each summer in London's Regent's Park, raising money for The Royal Parks Foundation for tree-planting in the park.

Kele is also a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT), having trained at the Constructive Teaching Centre under the tutelage of the late Walter and Dilys Carrington.

Kele's professional membership also includes Equity (UK), Actor's Equity (USA) and AFTRA (USA).
